Scarce # 605 ½ C “early” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used

A scarce “early” Bedrock series 15” heavy jack plane with corrugated sole by Stanley. Plane is a Type 3 produced from 1900-1908. This “early” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the rounded top of the sides of the plane body, a smaller front knob and the early type of frog used in these planes. April 1995 patent cast into body behind frog. The original Type 3 iron has been replaced by a Type 6 iron but otherwise is true to its type. This particular example reflects average wear from original use with no chips or cracks in the metal and about 50% of the original Japanning intact. Fully functional – iron requires sharpening/honing.
