A scarce “early” Bedrock series 18” fore plane with by Stanley. Plane is a Type 3 produced from 1900-1908. This “early” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the rounded top of the sides of the plane body, a smaller front knob and the early type of frog used in these planes. April 1995 patent cast into body behind frog. This particular example reflects average wear from original use with no chips or cracks in the metal and about 50% of the original Japanning intact. Fully functional – iron requires sharpening/honing.
