Maker: Currie, Glasgow, Scotland; circa 1828-1875
A rare example of a two iron molding plane by a Scottish plane maker. Plane is beechwood with a boxwood wear strip mitered into the sole. Double iron is designed to cut in both directions. Plane is fully functional (irons require sharpening/honing before use. Maker’s mark clearly visible on nose of plane. All parts/hardware are original. Overall very good condition with some minor dings from original use and stable crack on leading edge of boxwood wearstrip and a minor chip missing from the leading edge of the wearstrip as well as a smaller chip out of the rear edge of the boxwood wearstrip. Maker’s mark is visible on nose of plane.
