An antique bridal arm plow plane by Mathieson & Son. An atypical design for the time with a metal bridal securing the arms in the desired position. Plane is beechwood. Arms are ebony, capped with brass at the ends. Overall very good condition, with typical wear from use including bruising to the iron wedge, staining on the skate. All parts including iron are original. Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing). Makers mark imprint is visible as shown in nose photograph.
