Extremely Rare antique American thumb screw arm plow plane; used 

Maker:  W. Cooley, Boston, MA; circa 1834-1849

A rare antique American plow plane by W. Cooley.  Arms are held in place with wooden thumbscrews.  Entire plane appears to be made entirely of boxwood with an appealing patina.  Overall, excellent condition with minimal wear to interior of fence, some staining to steel portion of the skate and some slight bruising to the wedge. All parts including iron are original.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  4 stars (extremely rare).
