Maker:  Abraham Fisk, Providence, RI; circa 1790

An extremely rare antique American thumb screw arm plow plane more than 200 years old by Abraham Fisk.  Good condition, all parts including iron are original.  Made of beechwood.  Minor bruising on wedge and staining and minor pitting on metal skate.  Arms have a stable crack where they transition to fence. Thumb screws fully secure arms at desired setting.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers’ marking lines for wedge and wooden depth adjuster visible on plane body.  Maker’s mark imprint is visible as shown in nose photograph.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  4 stars (extremely rare).
