Antique British Shoulder plane, Used

Maker:  H. Slater, London, G.B., circa 1900

An antique British cast infill shoulder plane by H. Slater with ebony infill.  Casting is brass with a steel sole. Very good condition – no cracks/chips in metal work or wood infill. Plane is fully functional.  Maker’s mark is on the heel of the plane – unusual.  The screw head on the heel of the plane that holds the rear portion of the infill in place in the casting has been twisted off – the shank portion of the screw remains.  Removing the wedge and iron shows the infill is completely intact and solid in the interior of the casting.  The shadow on the side view with iron and wedge is a reflection off the brass side.
