Scarce # 604 “later” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used

Maker:  Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT

A scarce “later” Bedrock series smoother by Stanley.  Plane is a Type 6 produced from 1912-1921.  This “later” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the squared off top of the sides of the plane body, a taller front knob and a major innovation in the construction of the frog that is still utilized today by modern day makers of the original Bailey/Stanley type metal planes.  April 1995 and April 1910 patents cast into body behind frog.  Type 6 iron and lever cap. This particular example reflects minimal wear from original use and overall is in excellent condition with about 90% of the original Japanning intact.  Fully functional – iron needs sharpening/honing.
