Scarce # 606C “later” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used

A scarce “later” Bedrock series 18” fore plane by Stanley. This “later” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the squared off top of the sides of the plane body, a taller front knob and a major innovation in the construction of the frog that is still utilized today by modern day makers of the original Bailey/Stanley type metal planes. Plane is a Type 6 produced from 1912-1921. April 1895 and April 1910 patent dates cast into body behind frog. This particular example reflects average wear from original use and overall is in good condition with approximately 50% of the original Japanning intact. Fully functional – iron needs sharpening/honing.
