Scarce # 607 “later” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used
Maker: Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT
A scarce “later” Bedrock series 22” jointer plane by Stanley. Plane is a Type 6 produced in 1912-1921. This type reflects the “later” series of Bedrock planes characterized by the squared off top of the sides of the plane body, a taller front knob and a major innovation in the construction of the frog that is still utilized today by modern day makers of the original Bailey/Stanley type metal planes. April 1995 and April 1910 patents cast into body behind frog. Lever cap with the notched “STANLEY” used with the Type 7 “later” Bedrock series and may have been a replacement on this plane. This particular example has better than 90% of the original Japanning and overall is in excellent condition. Fully functional – iron needs sharpening/honing.
