Maker:  Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT

A scarce #50 plow/beading plane made by Stanley from 1884-1962.  Complete with 7 grooving cutters and 7 beading cutters in an original cardboard box with fiberboard holder for cutters including the fiberboard cover that fits over the cutters.  Includes the small chip deflector incorporated into production around 1900.  Fishscale pattern on handle and nickel plating dates this example between 1910 and World War II when japanning replaced the nickel plating due to wartime priorities.  Overall, this example reflects minimal wear from original use and is in excellent condition with better than 90% of the original plating intact.  Fully functional – irons need sharpening/honing.
