Maker:  Fox & Washburn, Amherst, MA; circa 1835-1836

A very rare antique American handled screw arm plow plane by American plane maker Fox & Washburn.  Very good condition, all parts including irons are original.  Plane body is beechwood; screw arm nuts are boxwood.  Minor bruising on wedge and some minor chips on the screw arms.  Screw arms nuts turn freely and fully secure arms at desired setting.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  3 stars (very rare).
