Very rare antique American handled screw arm plow plane; used 

Maker:  A. Miller, NYC, NY; circa 1850

A very rare antique American handled screw arm plow plane by A. Miller.  Excellent condition - all parts including iron are original.  This is a large plane compared to contemporaries of the time - overall length is 11 1/2 inches.  Plane body, fence and screw arms are beechwood; arms/nuts/ are boxwood.  Screw arms nuts turn freely and fully secure arms at desired setting.  Aside from some minor bruising and staining on the wedge and some minor nicks on the screw threads, this plane is in excellent condition. Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  3 stars (very rare).
