Maker:  E.P. Nutting, South Amherst, MA; circa 1852-1857

A very rare antique American handled screw arm plow plane by E.P. Nutting.  Very good condition, all parts including iron are original.  Plane body is beechwood; arms/nuts/fence are boxwood.  Some minor bruising on wedge and to the leading edge of the interior portion of the fence.  Screw arms nuts turn freely and fully secure arms at desired setting.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  3 stars (very rare).
